Eisregen/Rostart/Massacre Records/2011 CD Review

Eisregen are a band from Germany that has had their previous recording reviewed in this zine that plays a very dark and demented form of atmospheric dark/black metal and this is a review of their 2011 album "Rostart" which was released by Massacre Records.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown in, while the keyboards bring a very dark and atmospheric sound to the music , as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are more raw and primitive sounding than the older recordings but you can still hear a  lot of their older sound on this recording with some influences from other styles of music, while the lead guitars when they are utilized are very melodic sounding guitar solos and leads, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized they use finger picking and full chords they add more variety to the music .

Vocals range from grim and high pitched black metal screams mixed in with some clean singing vocals with some deep growls being thrown in at times, while the lyrics are written in German and cover death, necrophilia, cannibalism, perversion and murder, as for the production it has a very powerful, heavy and professional sound to it.

In my opinion this is another great album from Eisregen and if you where a fan of their previous releases, you will not be dissapointed. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Shackal-Ode An Die Streubombe" "Blutvater" "Kathi Das Kuchenschwein" and "Fahless Ross". RECOMMENDED BUY.
