Diablery/The Eye/2011 EP Review

Diablery are a band from Greece that plays a very atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2011 ep "The Eye".

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown in at times, while the synths bring a very atmospheric feeling to the music without being too overdone but still being a main instrument, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerful.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very dark and melodic sounding without sounding too raw or primitive and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.

Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams with some deep growls, spoken word parts and clean singing being thrown in at times, while the lyrics cover dark and satanic themes, as for the production it sounds very dark without being too under produced or overproduced.

In my opinion Diabelry are a very good atmospheric black metal band with a melodic and symphonic edge that while not pure kvlt black metal or too mainstream sounding and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Legion" and "Aeon Of The Dark Light". RECOMMENDED BUY.
