Blackwinds/Flesh Inferno/Regain Records/2008 CD Review

Blackwinds are a band from Sweden that has some members of Setherial that plays a very raw, brutal and fast form of Satanic atmospheric black metal and  this is a review of their 2008 album "Flesh Inferno" which was released by Regain Records.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a lot of blast beats, while the keyboards bring a very dark sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone which follows the riffs that are coming out of the guitars.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that contain a good amount of melody and a slight death metal edge, while the lead guitars are very primitive and melodic sounding guitar solos.

Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams with some deep growls being thrown in at times along with some spoken word passages, while the lyrics touch on dark spirituality, biblical passages, self mutilation, Satanism and the philosophy of Hegel, as for the production it has a very heavy, dark but still very professional sound.

In my opinion Blackwinds are a very good atmospheric satanic black metal band that should appeal to all fans of this genre. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Enter The Pandemonium" "Inquisition" "Conceptualizing The Devil" and "Quintessence Of Hell". RECOMMENDED BUY.
